This talk covers the history of the role of the Local Magistrate Service and shares stories and lessons from my years as a magistrate based in Cheshire . The session is highly interactive with questions encouraged and is ended with a quiz to check understanding.

My objective is that the audience is left with a better understanding of the role of their local magistrates and have confidence in the fairness of the system.
